Gordon Cordor, PGA Professional at Manito Golf & Country Club located in Spokane Washington, joins us for a VERY Quick Nine to answer some questions about our unheralded heroes; Golf Pro Shops.

Q1. When was Manito Golf & Country Club founded?
A1. 1922
Q2. How many members do you currently have?
A2. 475 golf members and 150 social members.
Q3. What does a typical day look like for you?
A3. A typical day starts with opening the golf shop at 6:00 AM and running the daily games (i.e. Ladies 9 Hole/Men’s Skins Game, etc.). Next, some merchandising/accounting and member services. Last and most important; locking up the shop and getting a 9 hole hot lap in!
Q4. When did you start stocking TRUE? What was the first model you brought in?
A4. We started in 2018 with the Original. The response was very, very good almost immediately. After someone tries them, they really just sell themselves! And as somebody who own their own golf shop, it’s huge to have stuff that actually sells!
Q5. What's the most common question people ask when they see TRUE in the Pro Shop?
A5. The number one most asked question is “can you play golf in these things?" I think that they look so stylish and comfortable that people have a hard time thinking that it’s possible to have both a comfortable and functional golf shoe.
Q6. What event do you look forward to all year?
A6. The Tailgater, a BBQ competition where we cook for over 400 people raise over $50,000 for charity. It really is the coolest thing to watch our community come together and support all these amazing charities.
Q7. What's one thing you wished everyone knew before they set foot inside the Pro Shop?
A7. Even though we ARE a country club...we are more country than we are club! We focus on the amazing community we have up here and make it an awesome social experience for all demographics. To say we do things different than most clubs is a huge understatement. We even have a separate pro shop logo from the club logo!
Q8. What's one thing you wished everyone knew before they set foot inside the Pro Shop?

Q9. Who's the most famous person to ever play a round at Manito?
A9. Byron Nelson played at Manito in the 1944 PGA Championship. He said “that Manito had the fastest greens he had ever played in his life.”

Q10. What's been your best seller? What do customers keep asking for?
A10. TRUE Knit for sure. They are so incredibly versatile as you can wear them anywhere; they are just awesome all the time.
Q11. Which TRUE model is your personal favorite?
A11. Honestly… I started with the Original and thought those were my favorite shoes ever until the Major came out; now the new TL-01 is my favorite! You guys just keep doing new things and knocking it out of the park every time. Really love the partnership.
Q12. What's your favorite hole to play at Manito?
A12. Number Six is definitely my favorite. It is just a straightforward good long par 4 that dog legs left. Does not even have a bunker on it yet finds a way to be one of the more challenging holes on our course. Fall In Spokane might be the best place on the planet this time of year. Next Thursday it’s dry warm enough in our golf courses in the best condition it is all year.
